Teachers' Opinions on the Effect of Using Educational Games in Primary Education Lessons on Students' Academic Achievement
This research aims to determine teachers' views on the effect of using educational games in primary education courses on students' academic achievement. Games, which are an indispensable entertainment tool for students, are used as an effective educational tool today. Especially digital games are widely used in education. The general purpose of this study is to determine the use of educational games, which are known as game-based learning environments for students' learning and are widely used today. The phenomenology design method was used in the research. The research consists of the opinions of teachers working in primary schools in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır province in the 2023-2024 academic year. In this study, in which qualitative research method was used, data were obtained from 20 teachers working in primary schools through semi-structured and non-directive interview technique. Validity and reliability were ensured by explaining the data collection process in detail and giving direct quotations from the answers given by the participants. As a result of the study; teachers stated that educational games have a significant effect on students' behavior and academic achievement. In addition, almost all of the teachers stated that educational games have positive contributions to students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills.
