Analysis of Postgraduate Theses on the Effect of Educational Games on the Academic Achievement of Primary School Students
The purpose of this research is to examine postgraduate research studies on the effect of educational games on the academic achievement of primary school children by using document analysis. Within the framework of the target of the research, a total of 20 postgraduate theses prepared between 2012 and 2022 were included in the study. In line with this goal, the main characteristics of the studies conducted to investigate the effect of educational games on the academic achievement of primary school students were examined. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. As the data analysis method, descriptive analysis technique, one of the qualitative data analysis techniques, was used. In discussing the postgraduate research conducted to investigate the effect of educational games on the academic achievement of primary school students in our country; The "Publication Review Form", developed by the researcher using the field literature on educational games, was used. Publication review form; It was examined according to the years of the study, data types, research designs and finally the sample group. Considering the research findings; It has been observed that the most theses related to postgraduate studies conducted to investigate the effect of educational games on the academic achievement of primary school students in Turkey were carried out in 2022, the most were written at "Gazi University" and they benefited from quantitative research methods among the research types.
