Abstract

Investigation of Organizational Commitment Behaviors of Primary School Teachers According to Some Variables
Today, organizational commitment, which is one of the behaviors of organizational employees towards their organization, has been a subject that has been widely wondered and researched. Teachers have an important place in the system due to the role they play in increasing the quality of the education system, so it is necessary to determine the elements that will lead them to success in order for teachers to show the desired qualities expected from them. Organizational commitment is thought to be one of these elements. In this context, the aim of this research, which is important for the education community, is to examine teachers' organizational commitment behaviors according to some variables. The population of the research consists of 24865 teachers working in Diyarbakır districts in the 2023-2024 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 420 teachers determined by random sampling from the population. The data of the study were collected using the Organizational Commitment Scale developed by Meyer, Allen and Smith (1993) and adapted into Turkish by Dağlı, Elçiçek and Han (2018). The scale consists of 18 items and 3 sub-dimensions. In the analysis of the research data; arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage values were calculated. In addition, t-test and ANOVA test were used in the study. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that teachers' organizational commitment behaviors did not differ significantly according to their gender, education level and age.
