Abstract

Investigation of Teachers' Values Education Attitudes According to Some Variables
Values education is one of the most frequently encountered topics in recent years. Value education is explained as a process in which students are given values that will enable them to distinguish between right and wrong, and in which students are allowed to create their own values. With the necessity of values education in schools as a requirement of today's living conditions, the content of values education has been expanded and has taken its place in the acquisition table of many branches. In this context, the aim of this research, which is important for the education community, is to examine teachers' attitudes towards values education according to some variables. The population of the study consists of 11830 teachers working in the central districts of Diyarbakır in the 2023-2024 academic year. The sample of the research consists of 200 teachers determined by random sampling from the universe. The data of the study were collected using the Values Education Attitude Scale developed by Yaşaroğlu (2014). The scale consists of 25 items and one dimension. In the analysis of the research data; arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage values were calculated. In addition, t-test and ANOVA test were used in the study. As a result of the analyzes, it was seen that teachers' attitudes towards values education did not differ significantly according to their gender, educational level, type of school they work in, and age, but they differed significantly according to their voluntary participation in values education activities.
