Investigation of Public School Teachers' Perceptions of Organisational Cynicism According to Some Variables
Organisational cynicism refers to the feelings of teachers and a critical and condescending thought that has developed as a result of negative experiences in their lives. It is seen that organisational cynicism has become an important and researched topic in the literature with the fact that it has become a widespread subject of research. In this context, the aim of this study is to examine the perceptions of teachers working in public schools about organisational cynicism according to some variables. The population of the study consists of 9158 teachers working in the central districts of Batman in the 2023-2024 academic year. The sample of the study consisted of 250 teachers who were determined by random sampling from the population. In order to measure teachers' perceptions of organisational cynicism, "Organisational Cynicism Scale for Teachers" developed by Sağır and Oğuz (2012) was used. The scale consists of 4 sub-dimensions and 25 items as Factors Reducing Performance (9 items), Distancing from the Institution (7 items), Negative Attitude towards School (5 items), Employees' Participation in Implementing Decisions (4 items) In the analysis of the research data; t-test and ANOVA test were used. As a result of the analyses, it was seen that teachers' perceptions of organisational cynicism did not differ significantly according to their gender, education level and seniority.
