Abstract
Investigation of Primary School Teachers' Problem Solving Skills
Problem solving skills are learnt through experiences from early ages and developed throughout life. Problem solving skills of individuals continue to be developed through school during their education years. Teachers may encounter problems in classroom management, use of time, preparation and use of tools and materials, students' behaviours, etc. at any time and in any way. For this reason, it is expected that the problem solving skill levels of teachers who may face various problems every day, regardless of their fields, should be strong against possible situations. Therefore, the aim of this research, which is important in terms of education and training, is to examine the problem solving skills of primary school teachers according to some variables. The research is descriptive, cross-sectional and relational. The population of the study consists of 400 teachers working in Diyarbakır Kayapınar in the 2024-2025 academic year. The data were collected by using Demographic Information Form and ‘Problem Solving Skills Scale’. According to the findings of the study, when the mean scores of the problem solving skills scale of primary school teachers were compared with demographic characteristics such as gender, seniority and educational status, it was found that there was no significant difference in the gender, seniority and education variables of the teachers (*p>0.05).
